Charity & Giving
Charity means to give to others what belongs to oneself. The act of charity is a conscious act that is also referred to as donation. You can give away money, food, goods or even time to the impoverished or unfortunate, either directly or via a charitable trust or other worthy cause. Charitable giving in the name of religion or customs is referred to as almsgiving.

Charity is a humanitarian act — because you give recipients things or the means they need to survive. The intention of charity should thus be to lessen the recipients’ misery, not to gain fame or fortune. You should be unconditional in extending your love and kindness to others. Give willingly and happily, rather than under pressure or with the expectation of return, and you will end up reaping more benefits — because charity or donation done with the unity of the mind, speech and conduct usually receives tremendous benefits.
